2015 Intense-1

When you’re about to step foot into Intense Cycle’s booth, you know there won’t be a dull moment. Considered an innovator in this industry, Intense Cycles came full force this year re-introducing the Uzzi with some updated features and showing off their new M16C carbon downhill bike.

Send it past the break for the details on these gorgeous beasts and see what a lucky few might get their Palms on….

2015 Intense-2

Intense Cycles, a leader in their own right is well known for staying ahead of the curve and pushing technology…. and travel for that matter so like minded humans can exceed limits set by the equipment available.

Updates to the new Uzzi 275, “Super Enduro” / Park Bike, (think enduro with Rampage stages) are as follows:

  • 27.5 wheels
  • Boost 148
  • 190mm travel rear / 180 mm front
  • 2-position 64/65 head angle
  • JS (Founder Jeff Steber), tuned VPP suspension

2015 Intense-3

You can easily slack the head angle via the 2 mounting positions on the shock from 65° to 64° giving you more downhill specific capabilities.

The Uzzi 275 comes in 2 builds. The Foundation with Rockshox Yari runs $3,999, and the Pro Build with a Fox 36 will set you back $5,999.

2015 Intense-4

Probably one of the sexiest things at Interbike, only second to the “Worlds most famous 2nd Place Bike”, was the new carbon M16C downhill bike. Before looking at the specs, I just wanted to stare at it for a while.

Features of the M16C are as follows:

  • World Cup tested geometry on 27.5 wheels
  • EPS molded high modulus carbon frame
  • Compression molded carbon fiber upper link
  • Full internal cable routing for brake and shifting cables
  • Forged lower link
  • Double sealed pivots for long bearing life
  • Dual grease ports on lower link for easy maintenance
  • Full carbon dropouts and disk mounts
  • Angular contact bearings maximize stiffness
  • Collet axle pivots lock in place without pinch bolts

M16c Factory M16c ProM16 Geo

The M16C comes with 2 build options. The M16c with the Pro Build kit will run $8,400 and comes in at 35.5 lbs while the Factory Build will be $11,300 and come in at 34.7 lbs. In comparison, the alloy M16 Pro weighs in at 38 lbs. That adds up to a staggering 2.5 lb difference in the frame alone!

2015 Intense-7

Nothing short of beautiful….. but what is that lurking in the background???

m16-palmer

If you’ve been looking for a reason to dawn a gold sequined suit coat or you just love America, act fast as Intense Cycles is only making 60 of this Shaun Palmer limited edition bike that we first spotted at Sea Otter. An aluminum M16 frame and really nice build kit, the Palmer can be had for $9,999.

So they just took the color way from the Trek Slash 9.9 27.5″?

It has been this way for a long time with Intense, but there is something very questionable (if not outright disgusting) using guns names in a line up …

@benzo

Nice specs listed on the M16C pro build. The DT Swiss wheels have Stans hubs now?

You can change the geometry with the the shock mounts on the frame, the ones on the link are to change the travel… I think it’s 190mm/170mm.

@ Hank Mardukas
Colt Defender, Ottoman Volley gun, (Gattling Gun had 6, 7 and 12 barrels, so it doesn’t count …)

@preston yep, but a designer more skilled used the same pallette and made it better. Trek have some of the most ordinary colours and graphics, even amongst the other big 2 brands. Oft Santa cruz inspired, but just not hitting the mark. Mere opinion of a common folk though
