The German carbon constructors are at it again. Once known only for their namesake Lightweight wheels, the brand is slowly expanding their wares to other parts of the bike (or the bike in the case of their frames). While not their first entry into the world of dropbars, the new KOMPAKTBÜGEL is big news for riders looking for a more modern bar design that still includes the Lightweight stamp of approval. Where the previous bar used a traditional shape, the KOMPAKTBÜGEL has a flat top that extends through the clamp area. In addition to looks and feel, the design also contributes to the fact that the bar is now clip-on aerobar compatible.
After the 31.8mm clamp, the bar tops transition into an ovalized grip area for better ergonomics. From there the High Modulus carbon fiber flows into compact geometry drops with 75mm reach and 123mm of drop. Finished in Lightweight’s signature UD matte black with white logos, KOMPAKTBÜGEL bars are available in 40, 42, and 44cm widths with listed weights of 192g, 196g, and 200g respectively.
