Developed to serve as a versatile, all-street bike, the singlespeed Cinelli Mash Work is designed with feedback from messenger and Mash rider Chas Christiansen to be a silver bullet. The frame set is designed with a geometry nimble enough to bomb through an alley cat and but has the fixings to be a dedicated ‘cross racing machine. Skitch on through to the other side for all the deets…

This full Columbus steel frame set is left with heat zones visible around the joints then cleared over, so the frame and fork appear to be as raw as the streets themselves. The top tube features internal routing with flush interfaces at either end for the rear brake. Both frame and fork feature removable cantilever mounts so it can be ridden fixed and brakeless without extra hardware.

The frame and fork are designed with clearance for 35c tires for cross racing, though rear spacing is for 120mm track hubs, with mounts for two waterbottles. The model comes in five sizes, from 50cm to 60cm, and includes frame, fork, headset, seat collar, and brake studs.

Cinelli_MASH_Work_Frameset_Street_0025The Mash Work frame set is available now on the Cinelli online store for $895.65 MSRP pre-order through September 1st.

The third diagram. Shifters on a single speed.

@Rp

They’re brake levers boss 🙂

@Fatso

Rp is correct. They’re very clearly SRAM shifters.

Yes, no mistaking the canoe paddle sized shift lever on a SRAM.

At least it has proper CX cantilever brakes, and the work bike is correct with linear side-pull.

That’s Rohloff’s new internal geared hub–super-small, ain’t it?! Hence the shifters.

If you’re actually carrying anything you want a rack with actual triangulation and some strength built in, not that shite separate flat tang bolted-together top mount point.

The “work” drawing #1 shows the rack, but the description says nothing about it being included or not. I assume not included, but curious if it will be offered separately, maybe with some changes from the one pictured?

By “work” they mean “beer” right?

Do hipsters even want this anymore?

“as raw as the streets themselves” Seriously?

Apparently in “City Track” you need two bottles, but when you race CX you need none.

For the commenters commenting about the “shift levers” on a fixie, check out BikeCad some time and you’ll learn the difference between a person who designs bicycles and a person who criticizes bicycle design. Lots of hating going on here…

Cinelli needs to come out with a Shepard Fairey colabo longboard and some artisanal Italian beard oil if they want capture today’s hipsters.

Cinelli already worked with OBEY a few years back with some cockpit components. Plus, I think OBEY is a little bit outdated for “today’s hipsters”.
I do think the price is a little bit too much for what it is…but it does include a few extra bits. Not really interested in this frame. Seem to “meh” for me. What I would like to see is the use of a tapered headtube o maybe a 44mm headtube for use of a tapered fork if wanted.

Seems like a hell of a premium for Columbus tubed Steamroller. Removable canti studs aren’t really a big draw for me either. I really want to love Cinelli, but they really seem to be resting on their laurels. Justify the cost instead of tweaking your competitors offering.

Those are Sugino 75 NJS cranksets. With 144 BCD this is the only crankset that fits in the v1.

Anyone know the Rack thats on that bike? Really love how simple it is; curious to hear how long the frame lasts, especially in places like the PNW…
