Don’t call ’em a skate shoe. Osiris may be best known for their skate and BMX footwear, but thanks to their recent collaboration with Zoic you can add mountain biking to that list as well. Even though the number of riders turning to flat pedals seems to be increasing, the flat specific footwear market hasn’t been as quick to respond. In a space that had been practically owned by 5.10 for years, the recent loss of Teva’s options opens the door for smaller brands like Zoic to have a go.

Rather than creating their own footwear from scratch, they are instead partnering with an already established name. Representing the first product out of their ‘Linked Collab’ with with Osiris, the Prophet should be the perfect match to Zoic’s casual style…

Built using a firm sole and what Zoic is calling a snug fit to the upper, the Prophet was designed to be a pedal-able shoe specifically for flats. Underneath, HookUP rubber compound in a pedal friendly tread pattern will keep your feet glued to the pedals. According to Zoic President Eric Swenson, “Flat pedals inspire confidence among mountain bikers and we believe comfortable gear makes our sport more accessible, enjoyable and less intimidating. The dedicated ZOIC community of riders has embraced our casual aesthetic for technical bike clothing; The Prophet delivers this same experience in footwear.”

Currently only available for pre-order, the Prophet will be available in the three colors shown above. Each will retail for $85.00 and will be available in February, 2016. Called an ongoing collaboration from Zoic and Osiris, expect to see more from the two after the Prophet hits shelves.

i only wear skate shoes when I ride, so this makes complete sense to me. As long as it doesnt fit like a boot (2fo) and is not butt a55 ugly (510) and there is some pedal feel that neither of those two shoes offer. I think it will be a hit.
there is entirely no need to clip in unless you are a gram counting weight weenie lycra wearing skinny racer boy. 😉

it’s about d*mn time someone gave Five Ten a run for their money. 5.10 makes great products, no doubt, but it sucks to have ONE choice when it comes to picking a product like that.

It doesn’t look like a skate shoe, it looks like a skate shoe from the late 90’s.

I’ve been using Adidas Adidas SuperSkate ST shoes on platform pedals for many years – I love them so much when they went out of production I ordered another pair. The ST model had segments of extra padding only where you needed it, allowing for some needed airflow compared to most skate shoes. I would need to see these in person before buying them – can’t tell from these pics if they are packed with too much internal foam like most old-school skate shoes. The Osiris skate shoes I tried on back in the day did suffer that common flaw – but I’ll check them out when they hit my LBS.
