German direct-to-consumer brand Radon is headed to the trails with the new Slide 140 Carbon, a shorter travel, lighter weight version of the 160 launched last year.

It gets 140mm travel and 27.5 wheels inside a frame claimed at about 1900g w/o shock. Retail for the build you see here is €3200 with XT. Pretty good considering you’ll find a Reverb Stealth dropper post (it comes on all models) and Fox Float X rear shock with Kashima coats all around and Schwalbe tires. They say the top model should be under 11kg (24.25lb) complete.

More on this lightweight all-mountain bike and others below…

Basic geometry details include a 67.5° head angle and 74° seat angle.

It uses a Shimano PF92 BB and is ready for the new Sideswing front derailleurs even if it’s not spec’d as such.

The new Skeen 120 is meant to be a budget lightweight alloy all-mountain performer. It’s also built on 27.5″ wheels and should come in around 2.4kg w/o shock (frame only). The geometry sits between a fast marathon bike and all mountain bike. Complete bikes start at €1,699.

Their Swoop 200 DH bike switches to 650B wheels and is being thrashed in the World Cup races by Radon Magura DH team (Nick Beer, Manuel Gruber, Benny Strasser). Travel drops from 215mm to 200mm per team rider and customer requests as part switch to bigger wheels.

Frame weight is claimed at 3.4kg without shock and 15.8kg (34.8lb) as shown here. Available in October.

They’re also working on new ally Swoop Super Enduro bike that’ll have a flip chip to vary the geometry. Look for travel at 170mm when it debuts at Eurobike this August.

Complete bikes at $1800-$2000, it’s like we’ve come back down to earth! Wait for the Euro to disintegrate and bikes will be even more on sale!
