By this point it’s official – Ryders almost always has the most creative booth at a trade show. Between parking a DeLorean in the middle of the Mandalay Bay convention center to the wild West in the middle of Sea Otter complete with bar fights and shootouts, the crew at Ryders certainly has some fun when it comes to showing off their new gear.
This year the big story was their new Anti-Fog collection. Naturally, that called for a miniature lighthouse complete with a crew of seamen, the sounds of seagulls and the ocean, and a rotating light. The light wasn’t real, but that didn’t stop them from using a mirror to reflect the sun’s rays to attract wandering show goers.
Beyond creative booth construction, the Ryders’ anti fog collection is uniquely constructed for the challenges faced while riding. While anti fog is good, combining that with a lens that sheds mud, water, and sweat is even better…
The major selling point to the Anti-Fog collection is that on the back of the lens the anti-fog treatment is actually embedded into the lens. Ryders claims no matter how many times you wipe the lens clean you won’t wear off the anti-fog component. The front of the lens features a hydrophobic treatment to keep mud, water, and sweat from obscuring your vision. Between the two sides of the lens, all of the glasses in the Anti-Fog collection are meant for the most demanding riding conditions.
In the Anti-Fog collection itself the glasses are broken up into two lens tints – photochromic and Traction Polar. Both lenses offer 100% UVA, UVB, andUVC protection and are a scratch resistant, shatterproof polycarbonate that is optically correct. The Traction Polar is meant as a lens that will highlight pavement irregularities especially after a rain storm, or other situations where reading the terrain is a priority. Both available in models with or without a foam gasket, pricing ranges from $130-140 with the Foam Gasket collection selling for $160.
