2016 Lapierre Raid FX+ full suspension 27.5 mountain bike

No, it’s not that kind of “+” bike, just a plussed spec over the original Lapierre Raid FX that adds quite a few big brand components without making your wallet much smaller.

The frame is the same 6061 alloy part as the 2015 Raid FX, and it keeps the same Lapierre branded rear shock, but the drivetrain gets bumped to a Shimano Deore/SLX 10-speed mix and brakes are Shimano hydraulic, too.  It even gets Shimano hubs with Centerlock rotors and Schwalbe Rapid Rob Performance line 27.5×2.25 tires.

The fork switches from Suntour to a Rockshox Xc32 Solo Air. Travel is 120mm front and rear, with a suspension designed based on their higher end mountain bikes. The best part? Retail is just €1,249, making it a great first full suspension mountain bike.

I’ve had these in my shop for a couple of months now and have been really impressed by these bikes.
Best bang for buck full sus I’ve ever had.
Nothing super flash but all nice reliable “no mess no fuss” parts, and a nicely thought out frame.
Could do with a thru axle but otherwise a near perfect entry level full sus.

If wheel convert to tubeless it’s a nice package. IMO it would be nice with a cheap dropper like ice lift, cheap clutch derailleur like deore clutch, single small front narrow wide chainring, and decent flat pedal (plastic one would be enough).

Oh yeah, the one thing that did strike as really odd was that them come with toe straps attached to the pedals??
Toe straps?…. REALLY?!?!?!?!?!

I pull them off before putting the pedals on, but it’s the first time in a loooooong time I’ve seen new bikes coming with them from new.

This seems more like an ad than a bike rumor. Also, (im looking at you bike companies) if you insist on making new tire standards and naming them “+” then you should not use “+” in the name of the bike unless it is a “+” tire bike.

The industry must think Christmas is everyday: take any old design, make room for a rear wheel that is just 12 mm wider in radius and PRESTO! An old bike you can sell to the masses as the newest and greatest.

It is amazing how this keeps going on and on and on and on

Dont get the hate. This looks like a very decently priced and spec’d entry level full suspension bike! Kudos to LaPierre! Dodo, its not a + sized wheel bike.
