Easton Haven 32mm stem (2)

If you were wondering just how short enduro stems could get, you’re looking at it. At 32mm long, the new Easton Haven 35 stem places the handlebar just 0.5mm away from the steerer. Any shorter and you would have to make the stem vertical, or run it backwards for a negative length. Built to accomdate Easton Haven and other 35mm handlebars, the CNC machined aluminum handlebar joins the rest of the Haven 35 stem line for options from 32-90mm long.

Available late Spring, the 32mm stem will retail for $99.99 along with the 40, 50, 70, and 90mm Haven 35 stems. All Haven stems use a 0º rise and fit 1 1/8″ steerers with the namesake 35mm handlebars.

The new Answer AME stem comes in a length of 31mm. I guess thats a 1mm advantage about staying with 31.8mm handlebars.

I know of a company working on a shorter stem. Can’t say who it is, but he talked to us about last summer…

Mondraker (via OnOff) was the first company to offer very short stems from 30mm (actually 33mm) to 20 and 10mm, but these 2 last ones are vertical.

@WannaBeSTi maybe Mondraker? It was the first company (via onoff) to offer very short stems: 30mm (actually 33), 20 and 10mm but the 2 last ones are verticals and need steerer to be adjusted.

Ha! You need to run a standard 31.8 bar, that will give you several millimetres of advance over that fancy oversized 35mm enduro stuff! (mind you, it’s the handlebar’s center that actually counts)

@nsp234 not “several millimeters” but rather 1.6mm.

We should quibble over imperceptibly low digit millimeters. It’ll be a fun ol’ time : /

@DanO is actually 2.4 mm. 1.6mm from what you figured out, plus 0.8 mm because the center of the bar is closer to the steerer on a slimmer bar.

The first 0mm stem was the Azonic O stem. But it was vertical so it technically altered your ride height.

0.5mm ???????
so if your stem is 32mm measured centre to centre and there is 0.5mm between the bar and steerer.

bar 35mm steerer 28.6mm total 63.6
63.6 / 2 = 31.8 – 0.5 = means your stem should be 31.3mm not 32

so is this a 32mm stem or 31.3mm stem

Sorry but your maths is wrong you need to add the 0.5mm not remove it giving 32.3mm.
