YT Industries TUES CF
After two years of development, YT has just released their carbon TUES CF downhill machine.

After a pretty successful 2014, it looks like YT Industries is enjoying the ‘good times’ they wish to share with riders. Between Andreu Lacondeguy’s win at Red Bull Rampage and Cam Zink’s world record backflip, the brand is generating some major buzz in the downhill and freeride world. Building upon the success of their TUES aluminum DH bike, YT has just announced the arrival of the carbon version for 2015.

Designing the TUES CF took two full years of development with input from Zink and Lacondeguy. If you happened to be at Crankworx Whistler last year, you may have spotted a carbon prototype running test laps in the bike park. Now, finally, it’s ready for production with an expected delivery for April 2015.

The carbon frame drops a considerable 2.2lbs from the alloy version, bringing the complete builds to some very reasonable numbers- The top end Pro model (as seen above) is now at the sub-35 mark, weighing in at just 34.8lbs, and the mid-range Comp model is only a bit heavier at 36.4lbs. Larger riders should note that these weights are given for a small frame, with no pedals.

Like the alloy version, it’s rolling on 27.5” wheels, and their modern ‘race’ geometry follows the current trend towards providing longer reach with top tubes measuring at 584/604/624mm for S/M/L frames. Otherwise, the company has seemingly maintained the bike’s low center of gravity, agile handling and good midstroke stability. YT Industries’ V4L suspension remains unchanged, with a design aimed at providing plush and linear action with a progressive enough spring rate to cope with big hits.

YT has released two carbon models – the TUES CF Comp, (above) which features a mid-range parts spec with fewer suspension adjustments for ‘out of the box’ performance, and the TUES CF Pro with fully tuneable BOS suspension and a high-end parts spec.

From their headquarters in Forchheim, Germany, YT Industries sells direct from their website to customers in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, NZ and Israel. Price-wise, YT’s bikes are very competitive. The carbon TUES Comp sells for $4,595 US, and the carbon TUES Pro sells for $5,195 US.

@ascar larkinyar It might be that I don’t understand your supposed irony.. I do hope this is the case. Have you ever ridden the bike? I have and I would say that it could be the best handling bike so far and I have ridden quite a few new and old dh bikes. About the geo a quick check on the geo charts from 2005 would prove you to be very wrong, very wrong.
About the YT it’s one of the best dh bike on the market atm, especially if you consider what a matching bike from say Specialized with the same basic suspension layout would cost. Why change the layout of the suspension if it’s proven to be good?
