Wheels 4 Bikes, a non-profit dedicated to changing lives through bicycles, has received two bikes as donations, and they are auctioning them off on eBay to help raise money for their mission. Run by Hans Rey and his wife, they work on amazing projects, such as a couple that rode 300km on unicycles to raise $4,000, and a couple that asked for donations to the organization in leiu of wedding presents, and were able to donate 22 bikes to the people of Ugweno Valley. With such a great mission and high-profile directors, the organization gets a lot of fun and interesting ways to raise funds.

They currently have two of their dreambikes up for auction on eBay. World Champion Kenny Belaey’s Limited Edition Trials bike donated by Kenny himself, and a Canyon Nerve 9r All Mountain Bike donated by Bike Sport Magazine in Germany. Jump past the break to see both bikes…

Kenny Belaey's GT Trials Bike

Currently on eBay with a few days left, this bike was owned and ridden by Kenny. Only 10 of these frames were ever made by GT, they were never officially for sale.  100% of the sales price of this item will benefit Hans Rey’s non-profit charity ‘Wheels 4 Life’

Bikes Donated by Wheels 4 Life

The charity primarily raises money to give bicycles to those that need them, and they cost about $130 each. From Wheels 4 Life:

One bicycle changes on average four people’s lives, allowing them to travel four times faster, four times longer and carrying four times the load. Wheels 4 Life really does change lives and in some cases Wheels 4 Life saves lives. Whether our bicycles mean that children can go to school and be quicker, safer and less tired with the ability to carry heavy water containers on a rack instead of by hand; that a heath-care workers can visit four times the amount of patients and that a sick person can be transported to hospital by one of our bicycle ambulances; or that a farmer can transport four times their crops and thus create more of an income, our bicycles are a most valuable tool. Something so simple and so cheap by our standards can make all the difference in the world.

On the trials bike – one has to wonder when CF bikes, properly reinforced and/or protected from impacts will become more commonplace. No more top and down tubes – just a single main frame “tube” spit into stays at the back. May not be any lighter though and at that point it would be pointless.
