Acre Supply is the mountain bike specific arm of Mission Workshop, whose clothes and gear we’re pretty big fans of. It’s a lifestyle brand that’s also supremely functional and durable, and as such, they take their gear to some killer ride locations and bring along some top photos to capture it all. Their latest adventure journal follows Ty Hathaway through the 2014 Trans-Provence in southern France, and the pics are definitely making us wanna go.

The Global Fat Bike Summit has been announced for January 23rd-25th in Jackson, WY. Organized by QBP’s Advocacy Director Gary Sjoquist, and sponsored by Fitzgerald’s Bicycles, Hoback Sports, Wyoming Pathways, and Mountain Bike the Tetons/IMBA, the event will feature 3 days of seminars, clinics and demos.

“For the 4th year in a row, The Fat Bike Summit will bring together bicycle industry experts, key land managers and advocates to talk about the importance of fat bikes to local communities and public lands,” said Scott Fitzgerald, owner of Fitzgerald’s Bicycles. “Now that fat bikes have grown from what many people thought was a fad to a significant summer and winter user group, it is more important than ever to communicate current land management best practices as they relate to fat bike use.”

Last year, it was pretty impressive to watch land managers, the people responsible for deciding if we are allowed to ride in places, ride a fat bike for the first time, get the big grin, and start to understand why there is such a loyal following of participants.

I don’t know if it’s a fatbike thing, per se, but we’ve already had a lot of fat bikers riding off trail. Maybe the fat bike is bringing uneducated nubes to the (not) trails, or maybe it’s just too tempting since fat bikes are better suited to off trail. But either way, it needs to stop. I guess people just need to stop being knuckleheads if we’re going to continue to have access to trails.

Sure, the Argonaut bikes in the video were nice, but I’d like to see more of that Mosaic.
