2015-Sidi-dominator-and-drako-mtb-shoe-new-colors02

Camo is in, but it’s mostly been left to the softer side of soft goods, namely shorts and socks. Now, Sidi lets you complete the look with the new camouflage version of their Dominator Fit shoe for $249.

In front of it is the new Fluo Yellow Drako, which is their top of the line race mountain bike shoe. Features include their replaceable cleat plate and Tecno 3 dual wire ratcheting system. Retail’s a hope-you-are-sponsored $499.

From there, they’ve got a range of performance oriented models across the price range, a new winter boot and plenty more for road and mountain…

2015-Sidi-Kaos-carbon-road-bike-shoe01

The Kaos Carbon road shoe is a new upper/mid level model that gets a new Millennium4 sole, infusing carbon fiber into a nylon sole, with their standard buckle and wire closure combo.

The outsole gets a carbon fiber look imprinted into it, giving it a bit different look than the pure nylon soled models. It comes in at $299.

2015-Sidi-Level-carbon-road-bike-shoe01

Below that is the new Level road shoe, which has the same sole but downgrades to simple Velcro straps across the forefoot.

It’s available in four colors, shown right two on the top and left two on the bottom.

The Level retails at $199.

2015-Sidi-Wire-carbon-road-bike-shoe01

Way, way above that is the new Wire Carbon Air, a lightweight road bike shoe that takes the top of the line. It gets dual Tecno3 wire closure and adjustable heel retention over a light, perforated cover. Below it is a thin, stiff carbon sole with vents that can be opened and closed to regulate temperate.

2015-Sidi-MTb-Cape-mountain-bike-shoe04

Back to the mountain bikes, their feature set follows along the same price points but with treads on the bottom. The new Cape MTB shoe comes in at $299 with a Tecno3 cable closure across the forefoot and buckle closure on the top.

There’s plenty of fluorescent options in addition to the standard white and black: yellow, orange or green.

Below it is the Bevel. It shares the same Competition sole as the Cape, but trades the wire for Velcro straps.

2015-Sidi-MTB-Buvel-mountain-bike-shoe03

It comes in at $199.

2015-Sidi-MTB-Epic-mountain-bike-shoe01

For more adventurous or casual mountain bike pursuits, the new Epic gets a bit more pliable sole that allows for scrambling and hike-a-bike sections. A grippy tread section keeps you from slipping. The upper is a synthetic leather with mesh sections, much like a hiking shoe. Retail is $225.

2015-Sidi-MTB-Ghibli-winter-mountain-bike-boot02

For just a few bucks more, you can get the same treads on a full featured winter boot. The upper combines their reinforced heel cup with a buckle and Velcro straps below a neoprene ankle cuff to keep warmth in and chilly breezes out. Retail is $250.

2015-Sidi-insider-hightop-casual-mountain-bike-shoe01

On the right are two very un-Sidi looking kicks. The Insider is a suede-like high top lace up for fixed gearing it around town or hitting the dirt jumps. They’re $149.

Are my eyes deceiving me? Relatively affordable Sidi shoes again? Finally! If only their local rep hadn’t tried to screw over my local shops or I would be able to buy some…

If they bring back the rainbow color scheme from the early 90’s, I might have to take a look at Sidi again. I loved those shoes.

What is that one on the bottom left of the last picture (the Doha?) like? I’d love for Sidi to do downhill-type shoe with ankle protection and plenty of tread.

The Doha was always a motorsports shoe before(motorcycles) so does the new MTN Doha allow mounting of cleats now?
I would guess its a semi stiff sole, more-so as a trail shoe?

Hmm, they still have not put the sidi Fluro Pink shoes on their site yet. I found a couple pictures of them from trade shows this summer and eventually tracked down a pair in France. I can honestly say I’m the only person in Michigan with them, and probaly near that in the entire US. I get compliments on them all the time.

Overall, very nice but the Ghibli isn’t a “full featured winter boot” (as claimed in article) – to be full featured it would need to be waterproof, which it isn’t, hence the lower price tag despite the new sole and upgrade to a buckle over the Diablo.

Sidi, how about some Speedplay models in BLACK???

Seems crazy that they are now charging extra $ for th mega “wide” versions. There is no other brand that does this. Huge mistake.

Isn’t there a blue color Wire? Maybe that’s only for EU.

I’ve owned top line shoes from pretty much every manufacturer, if you are a SIDI fan you owe it to yourself to try Mavic shoes. Fit is very similar to SIDI but stiffness and foot retention is incredible. It’s almost hard to believe they can be that much better than everything else and be lighter. That and pricing isn’t a joke like SIDI’s.

Andy where are you from?? Sounds a bit strange.

Also, I believe the Ghibli is water resistant to a point of almost being able to call it water proof. It will not be as waterproof as Goertex, but I don’t know of anyone that will be standing still in water for over 8 hours so I would say pretty water proof…….

Seconding @jeb. I just picked up some mavic road shoes after riding sidis foe 15 years. Comfort and foot retention are amazing.

Sidi prices going up and Sidi quality going down…they are losing ground with their competitors.

Coldeme

@Luigi
Yes, they are more expensive than the competitors but they are leather and they are still made in Italy. I think the quality is still there. The profit for them is not as much as shoes made in Asia.
Mavic’s comfortable shoes but they fall apart. I have Mavic’s now and my old Sidi’s are in better shape.

Is Sidi continuing with their SPEEDPLAY platform on their higher end road shoes??? I don’t see anything there.

Now if Sidi could just get their “boa” system to work properly instead of sticking and not micro releasing vs. completely releasing mid-race.

@coldeme,

Sidi are not leather. Haven’t been for a long time. Go vegan!

@Paul
At least cows are vegetarian….

Not sure what that could mean, it just sounds funny to me 😉

If someone could create a fake leather that behaves and feels just like leathers, such that most people could not even tell the difference, they’d make Bazillion$

Do any of the MTB models have the HCS? That is a godsend for me with my narrow heels.

BTW, the fluo yellow Drakos are not new by any mean. The Drako came in this color (as well as black vernice and white vernice) when they were launched in 2012. On another note, those EPIC look promising: I was looking for an “all mountain” shoe that would not be ugly and as usual, Sidi makes them stylish. Let’s hope they live to their promise…

@Rocky: I’m guessing Andy is from somewhere around the Chicago area. I’m guessing he’s probably referring to when the Sidi rep was taking bikes from shops claiming that their manufacturer (whom the Sidi rep also rep’d) was “buying back old stock” even though no such program existed. Said rep was busted with a number of “stolen” bikes taken from shops and selling them.
