Nice to see photo’s of a trail in my backyard and that I got to help work on some. Without Doug, Jesse and the rest of the crew at Medicine Wheel Trail Advocates (our local trail group, been around since 1984!) we wouldn’t get so many good trails.

To everyone else, there are some great breweries and hot spots for post ride fun just a few miles from this trail. Sacred Grounds coffee shop now has beer/wine and a great patio near the trail. They do a solid breakfast and lunch business as well.

Brewery wise you have Smiling Toad Brewery off 8th street next to Domino’s which always has local food trucks parked out front. Down the road is the elementary school turned brewery, Ivywild School (which has Bristol Brewery, a bike shop, coffee shop, bakery, and local market built in it as well). McCabes Tavern has been a supporter of all things cycling for 7 years now and the biggest bike rack in town that can hold up to 40 bikes!

Come on down. You won’t regret it. You may just want to move here.

Oh yea Doug, MWA was clearing the jungle for hundreds of hours before dirt was ever touched, Totally awesome design Doug! you all nailed it!
MWA since 1984….now that is rock solid!

Hey Guys, I use to live in COS from 94 – 03. I go back at least once a year to visit family and ride my old fav’s like Palmer Park, Ute Valley, Captain Jacks, Rosemount Res etc. From the pics I imagine the trail is near Palmer Park. IF not, where in the COS area is this trail near?

Can’t wait to get back to COS and check it out. Good on ya and thanks for sharing.

AZ, the trail starts the North Cheyenne Canyon road just up from the mouth of the canyon, and goes mostly north to the existing Chamberlain Trail north of the reservoir in Stratton Open Space. The south end connects to the lower part of the Columbine Trail. It’s roughly where the 1.1 mile segment is on this map, although I don’t know if the map is up to date: https://www.springsgov.com/units/parksrec/maps/tchamber.htm
