Ultra410HB140Just because you can’t afford the top of the line lock doesn’t mean you don’t deserve security. For ABUS that means the introduction of their new 410 Ultra series – a complete range of locks packed with the German lock maker’s technology at affordable prices. Meant to fill out their 400 series of U-Locks, the 410 Ultra locks are available in 4 different styles each with an optional Cobra Cable.

Each lock in the 410 Ultra series uses the ABUS 12mm Silver rated round shackle which the company places at a security level of 8 (scale of 1-15). The hardened, round lock body uses their new 6-wafer key cylinder which should make it much harder for thieves to pick the lock. Add to that a double bolting shackle and you should have an impressively strong lock for the price.

Offered in the 410 Ultra Mini (5.5″), Ultra Mini Long Shackle (7″), Ultra (9″), and Ultra Long Shackle (11″), you can choose the right lock for your needs with each version except the Ultra LS also available in a package with the Cobra Cable. Prices start at $34.99 for the Ultra Mini and top out at $49.99 for the Ultra w Cobra Cable, or Ultra LS. Each lock also includes the SH 34 bracket for mounting the locks to your frame (24-35mm tubes).

These locks look nice, yet not that innovative. I still think the ABUS Bordo is the best civilian lock out there. Everything from not needing a bag/backpack to carry your lock safely to being able to link it up with every other Bordo out there, or being able to have as many locks as you want with 1 key access. The hardest pill to swallow is the price point, it just requires a bit of convincing from your local shop sales staff.

This ABUS lock is pointless.. DO NOT BUY IT>>>
Lock picking Laywer opened it just by looking at it! You can actually see the correct combination “notches” with your eyes!! Epic fail.
