Chapeau Graeme! Plotting the route on Strava, the hardest km has an AVERAGE gradient of about 18% (180m climbing in 1 km – see how simple the metric system can be!), so I wouldn’t be surprised if there were sections of up to 25%. I live just a couple of hours from there by train, so I may have to go visit the region again – I’ve only ever ridden down the main valley there, none of the side valleys like this one.
