  • The 2014 Heck of the North, a 100 mile gravel cycling classic in Two Harbors, Minnesota, will be held Saturday, October 4th. Video above of last year’s ride.
  • Voting is now open for the Central region of the Bell Built grants program. Voting ends May 4th, winner will be announced May 5th. Congratulations to the winner for the West Coast: Flagstaff Biking Organization, who will use the winnings for building beginner and intermediate trails at the Fort Tuthill Bike Park in Flagstaff, AZ.
  • Dero has announced the two finalists in the Dero Dream Bike Room Contest. Bike Texas of Austin, and the Green Building Alliance of Pittsburgh are vying for the chance to win $7,500 in bike storage solutions from Dero and an additional $1,000 to decorate a bike room of their dreams. Vote for the winner here until April 30th.
  • Buy a foot of trail for $5 through the Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship program and be entered to win a Santa Cruz bike of your choice.
  • Next weekend, former President George W. Bush will be hosting the 4th Annual W100K Mountain Bike Ride on his ranch in Crawford, TX.
  • Intense Cycles announces the 2014 IntensApalooza, July 11-13th at Mammoth Mountain, CA.
  • Winston-Salem, NC, has landed an elite cycling center which is in the running to become an official U.S. Olympic Cycling training center.
  • Reliance Foundry, a North American supplier of commercial bike racks, is awarding $5,000 in biking equipment to the cyclist who “can most cleverly articulate how biking to work has changed their life, or how they think cycling to work could change their or their coworkers’ or employees’ lives.” Read more about the contest and how to enter here.   • Bike Tours Portugal, a luxury bike tour operator, is offering 30% off their Blue Coast tour for June 21-28th. Their small group tours are supported by a trailer outfitted with bike supplies, luggage storage, a bathroom, and a kitchen where their private chef will fix your meals during the day.
  • The League of American Bicyclists has announced 80 new and renewing Bicycle Friendly Businesses.
  • In celebration of  Earth Day, Timbuk2 has announced their Life Cycle program, an environmental responsibility program to reduce, reuse, repair, recycle, and reimagine Timbuk2 bags.
