Gamut Cillos Stem (6)As a long time manufacturer of some of our favorite chain retention systems, we had to stop by the Gamut booth at Sea Otter to help them celebrate their 10 year anniversary, and check out their latest and greatest.

Late last year they sent us over a sneak peak of their new line of Cillos stems, but this was the first time we’ve had the opportunity to see the product in real life, and our crummy photos booth photos do not do the product justice. Gamut Cillos Stem (8)

Available in 40 and 50mm  iterations, the new trail oriented stem will use burly 6mm hardware. The 50mm is a few week outs and the pre production samples we photographed had only arrived shortly before the show. The shorter stem pictured above is one of the prototypes, since the finished product did not arrive in time for the show. That said, they are considering doing a two tone option, so let them know in the comments if you like the look!

Gamut Cillos Stem (5)The stems will be available in black and matte gray, with an optional ti kit that drops 20-30 grams. Stock, the Gamut stems should hit the scale at roughly 150 gms.

Gamut Cillos Stem (10)Also nearing final production is the Cillios DM stem, which will be adjustable in 5 mm increments between 45 and 55mm. They’re aiming for a final production weight of ~130 gm .

Gamut Guide RingsWhile Gamut has been producing their popular single ring specific race ring for several years, for this year they’ve slightly revised the tooth profile, and made the chain ring 1mm wider for better strength and stiffness characteristics.
image_1The new story here is the TTr rings, which has alternating tooth profiles to  help aid with chain retention on single ring equipped bikes. The cogs are machined in Canada and are currently available in a 30, 32, and 34, with more sizes to come. Pricing is $58.99 and you can order here.Gamut Trail GuideFor those who are interested in a little extra insurance, the Trail S and Trail SXC (which we have in for review and first saw late last year) are also available now. Weighing in at just ~50 gms for the top only version and ~80 grams for the dual option, the guides offer extra chain retention security with only minimal weight gains.

…And congratulations to Juan, Mateo, and everyone else at Gamut on their 10 year anniversary!

An all-raw, unpolished option would be super sweet. Perfect for my Rawthic Lenz.

kind of odd that the stem has nice crisp edges but the face plate is all rounded off. likely
different manufacturing technique.
