Bikerumor Pic Of The Day: Road to Sunrise, Mt. Rainier

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Photo submitted by James Tilley, “Mt. Rainier. Last 10 miles closed to traffic for the winter. Seattle has spent most of the month of October in the cold fog, so we decided to head to the mountains where it was sunny and warm.”

We always love to see your photos and would like to show them to the world here on the Pic Of The Day. Send in your photo with a brief description here.

  1. Wow…

So in Washington they have 25′ wide 2 direction bike paths, because no intelligent rider I know would ride near the centerline on a road with cars.

  2. Beautiful picture.

No intelligent rider or person would make a comment like Lane discipliner’s based on a single photo and with zero knowledge of conditions at the time of the picture.

  3. One of the best sectors to ride in the PacNW, and Lane you chose to say that???
I’d wager that was one of the most awesome rides of the year, with those condtions!

  4. As it says in the description, the “Last 10 miles [were] closed to traffic for the winter.” Sunrise Park Rd. (the road on which this picture was taken) is approximately 10 miles from the White River Campground intersection (where the road is closed to traffic) to the top (Sunrise Park). I would have been riding near the center line too, because, hey, no cars and an incredible view!
