The 2013 Red Bull Rampage is in the books, and Kyle Strait walked away as the first two time winner, repeating his victory in 2004 with another suicide no hander. Even though the contest was halted due to wind, there was still plenty of time to fit in some of the biggest tricks mountain biking has seen.

Check out Kyle’s winning run above, and the rest of the highlights after the break.

You might have heard there were a few massive backflips at Rampage this year. We’ve already shown you Cam Zink’s flip down the Oakley Icon Sender (just above again if you missed it), but the other flip that not a lot of people saw coming was Kelly McGarry’s equally impressive flip over the 72 foot canyon gap. The gap was even bigger this year and in spite of the likes of Zink and others crashing hard on the landing, McGarry still went for it pulling a backflip and earning the new People’s Choice award in the process (Zink won best trick with his flip). Able to execute the rest of his run, McGarry was also able to snag second place overall and on his first run to boot.

The competition was called due to high winds in the middle of the second run, so the judges only looked at first run scores for points.

Results:

1. Kyle Strait
2. Kelly McGarry
3. Cameron Zink
4. Andreu Lacondeguy

Rampage is not a competition the riders take lightly. Zink and Strait go through their prep for the big event.

One of the top 5 moments in this clip? Kyle Strait’s other no-hander off of what was then considered a huge drop. Progression at its finest.

Of course, the 2013 RBR was not without some serious crashes – this clip highlights some of the biggest over the year (not including Zink’s bail on the canyon gap). We’re hoping for a speedy recovery to all the riders who went down!

That run was pretty underwhelming compared to what I remember from years past.

Seems like his flow and a pretty complete run won it more than throwing one big trick.
