Giro di Turchia 2013

Creating runs of limited edition rides decked out with incredible build kits seems to be turning into something of a habit for Ridley lately. Not long after announcing their limited Campy 80th anniversary Helium SL builds, the bike builders are at it again – this time with a super light cyclocross build. Helping to celebrate the launch of the new 2014 X-Night carbon crosser, the X-Night Superlight comes in under the UCI minimum weight requirement of 6.8kg, at 6.46kg (14.24 lb). In addition to the high spec build, the frame has another super light paint finish minimalist graphics.

Glamor shots and full build list after the break!

Built with a full SRAM Red22 group, the rest of the bike is heavy on the 4ZA components which is Ridley’s house brand. Along with Zipp 303 Firecrest wheels and Continental Cyclo X-King tubular tires, the 4ZA components don’t seem to be weighing down the 14.24 lb bike.

The X-Night carbon gets away from the previous seat mast design, now equipped with a standard post, while the rest of the HM/HR Unidirectional carbon frame sees a PF30 bottom bracket, tapered head tube, and internal cable routing. Word is that these may not ever be offered for sale in the US, though if they were, expect the price to be around €6499 ($8779).

If I weigh my bike by hanging scale with the bike is sitting on the floor it’ll weigh nothing. And it has disc brakes! C’mon Ridley

I agree with Thad, make a 15lb. disc brake whip.

Happily the UCI weights a bike with pedals, so that makes it exactly legal.

All the guys ‘crying’ for disc brakes, you are all from the States? In Belgium almost everyone is still racing with canti-levers, also most of the sponsored pro’s.

Nice, it’s like my Cannondale SuperX with Campagnolo and pedals 😉

It doesn’t matter what the sponsored pros are riding as they’d race unicycles if its what their sponsors told them to ride in order to get paid.

Canti brakes and pedals = 15lbs. Thats it. If you are looking for disk brakes, go for an other brand…

The bike is not touching any floor what you see underneath it is just a background made with Photoshop or whatever !
Mine weight 6.1 kg with <1kg wheels !
Disc brakes in Cyclocross are crap. unless you're much faster than Belgian and Dutch guys, you don't need them, and if you do, please buy a mountain bike
