Easton_Calfee Manta Pro Soft Tail

In a move to highlight the incredible talents of five Santa Cruz based hand-made bicycle builders and to support worthy charities at the same time, Easton has announced their Dream Bike Charity Raffle. Santa Cruz is a hotbed for cycling companies, illustrated by the pedigree of builders like Caletti Cycles, Calfee Design, Black Cat, Hunter, and Rock Lobster which is why Easton has decided to give away one dream bike from each builder outfitted with a super high end build including Shimano Dura Ace Di2 and a full compliment of Easton carbon including the Eurobike award winning EC90 Aero 55 wheelset.

One bike will be given away per month, with full proceeds going to the charity of the builder’s choice. This month’s dream bike is the Calfee Manta Pro suspension road bike. Check it out and see how to enter after the break.

We got the very first look at the Manta Pro back when Tyler visited Calfee’s headquarters. The Manta uses a soft tail design with an elastomer suspension that provides up to 10mm of travel. The raffle bike is the very first production Manta Pro – a 56cm that you can own.

To enter, head over to the Easton Facebook page and click on the Dream Bike Charity Raffle App and you can buy a raffle ticket for $5. Calfee is donating all of the funds to Cyclists for Cultural Exchange who use cycling to further peace and international understanding. You have until the end of September to enter to win the Calfee, at which point it will be given away and the next dream bike will be announced.

Get to it.

Not really a dream bike if it doesn’t fit.

It’s still a gorgeous piece of art if you hang up the frame and use the parts. For 5 bucks why not.

Craig Calfee is an admirable guy, with world class talent and world class projects outside of Calfee Design. His decade+ of bicycle aid projects in Africa is innovative and inspiring. Bikes built locally of bamboo for villagers to improve their lives though functional and reliable bikes.

Calfee builds seriously impressive bikes, not just in Santa Cruz. Awesome!

Sounds like a bit of a downer to only offer one size, even if it is a common size.

I don’t care that the bike’s too small for me. It’s the perfect size to part-out on eFray.

Charity stuff is great, but my dream bike doesn’t involve any Easton components.
