Originally known for their tires, pedals, fixed gear parts and frames, Fyxation is now getting into the custom equipped bike market with builds based on their Eastside or Quiver framesets. With a little imagination and the help of Fyxation’s build consultants you can build up a commuter, fixed gear, adventure bike, or even a 2×10 steel road bike.

Check out the one off metallic orange Quiver build after the break.

Starting with a Quiver frame and so far the only metallic orange paint job, Fyxation sees this as one of their best creations yet.

Built with Salsa Wood chipper bars, a SRAM Apex drivetrain with TT500 bar end shifters and a bevy of Fyxation parts including a Comet stem, Mesa 61 pedals, Gates pedal straps, 700x35c Session tires, leather saddle, pilot micro-adjust seatpost and leather bar tape, this Quiver is certainly not a fixed gear.

Custom builds are done one on one with a Fyxation team member rather than an online form with limited options, so what ever you’re looking for can be done. Price is dependent on spec, so whether you’re changing just a few parts, or building up something wild it will change greatly. Check out Fyxation.com for more.

That geometry is really unusual – relatively tight rear triangle and super slack, shallow head tube/fork. Is the goal there a stiff rear end and short wheelbase with the stable front end? I wonder how it rides. I’d want (and have) the opposite on my Brodie Romax cromo commuter – longer wheelbase, longer chainstays, steeper head tube.

@Jimmy: I built a Quiver as a 2×10 steel roadie (SRAM Rival). The geometry is great and mimics a lot of the very-well-liked 80’s Trek road bikes. The headtube slackness is slight and the bike feels/handles great. I’ve used it as a commuter, a long distance rider, gravel grinder. I have 4 sets of tires I swap around depending on what I want. The bike has handled everything well. I’m about to throw a rack on the back and do a weekend tour.

ive never seen a bike have such an identity crises.
why make a road (caliper brake) bike that fits 47c? the necessary extra long reach brakes never feel good. plus, most riders will never use a tire larger than 32c and even that size tire looks really strange in the frame.
anyone know if these frames are butted or not?…

That is a great colour, would not mind a bike myself in that colour.
