Like front and full suspension or disc brakes before it, dropper seatposts add weight, cost, and complexity to mountain bikes.  Also like those things, they’re pretty awesome and can be a lot of fun in the right terrain.  Aiming to bring the benefits of readily-dropped saddles to a broader aftermarket and OEM audience, KS (Kind Shock) have announced their new E-Ten model- which starts at $150.  More details after the break.

385mm long with 10 100mm of travel, the E-Ten will be available in the usual 30.9mm and 31.6mm diameters.  For $150, a Jackson-style under-saddle lever drops the 643g post.  An additional $25 buys the remotely-actuated version.  For riders on a budget or those who want a dropper for those occasional trips to ‘bigger’ locations, the E-Ten could be just the ticket.

You say 10mm travel. Assume you mean 100?

I’ll be interested when it’s made in 30.0, not until.

I have a KS 27.1 ? with the under the seat lever. It did not have the option for remote upgrade. Does the new remote work on my post?
