2013 Eddy Merckx 525 Complete Fulcrum Ultegra Di2

Eddy Merckx unveiled the EMX 525 with release set for mid-September. Showcasing at the top of Merckx’s road range, the EMX 525 will push the EMX-7 into second place. Curved and angled tubes make for a distinct design while maintaining stiff handling throughout. They’ve mixed asymmetric seat stays, a bulky downtube and a large headtube to help reinforce the frame. Integrated into the headtube is the Aerofork II, updated from the EMX-7 to further increase front end stiffness.

The 525 is designed for use with electronic groups with no alternate frames offered. Compatible with both Campy EPS and Di2, the EMX 525 comes standard with a compact Di2 Ultegra groupset. Built as shown above with a Fulcrum Racing Quattro wheelset, 3t Ergonova team bars with 3T Arx team stem and a Prologo Kappa Evo saddle, pricing is £4,499.99. For the frameset (frame, fork and seatpost) pricing is £2,899.99.

ETT Time Trial Bike

Eddy Merckx teamed with Lexus to create the 2013 ETT time trial bike. Trying out some new tech, Merckx vented the frame by removing three large chunks of carbon from the downtube. This creates what’s called a Venturi effect. As air passes through the vents, it’s said to speed up and stabilize the bike while also reducing drag.

Pricing for ETT isn’t announced yet and we’ll update when we find out!

14 seconds in. That is a pretty nasty birds nest of cables. You might as well be pulling a parachute!
