Colnago has just announced a 135-piece limited edition run of their C59 Italia road bike frame to celebrate Thomas Voeckler’s 135 points in the race for the Climber’s Jersey at this year’s Tour de France.

The frame is available in both standard and sloping geometry, made for standard mechanical or Di2/EPS electronic groups.

“Thomas is one of the heroes of the Tour de France and so it’s only right we celebrate his success with a special bike,” Ernesto Colnago said on the brand’s website.

“We were inspired by the way he won his stages, especially the stage to Bagnères-de-Luchon; that was a real show of Thomas’ panache and character. He also took the polka-dot jersey that day and then kept it all the way to Paris. We’re very proud that he and other other riders at Team Europcar used the new Colnago C59 Italia and M10 S Team Edition bikes.”

The C59 Italia is Colnago’s top road frame, and Voeckler rode a frame painted just like this on the last day of le Tour. Frame is about 1,000g and is built with a ribbed top tube characteristic of Colnago’s other classic frames.

Retail is £3,499. Thanks to Dutch & Wolf for the tip!

Is there an occasion that Colnago doesn’t make a limited edition bike for? I hear next up they’re going to make a limited edition bike to celebrate the anniversary of their first limited edition bike.

@ professor – isn’t that redundant?

@chris Would you like them to limit the editions of their limited editions, or limt the additions of their limited editions?

Matt… Indeed. I stand corrected.

I can’t wait for the limited edition celebrating each limited edition bike, all 11,284 of them. All celebrated with one bike. It’ll be magical.

you’d think a climber’s edition would come with appropriate wheels, hyperons or something

Fredilicious! I’ll ride it while wearing my TdF replica maillot jaune and world championship striped socks. Actually might be a cool paint scheme for a chick’s bike.
