Looks like a shockabsorber off an early Proflex MTB.

here’s my half-ass comment : whenever in doubt and it looks to sport elastomer and preload just mention GIRVIN in the answer but I have to say it does look like a a mountain Cycle san andreas read shock or CHAiNkey ? either or ….

I’m gonna say it’s the front elastomer stack of the Girvin suspension fork.

Its a mountain cycle rear shok , hence the company color way died elastomers .
Fisher RS1 featured a coil shok
Girvan dampers were yellow

I’m with Underground and Ernesto, mainly because the Proflex/Girvin/K2 rear shock didn’t have eyelets if I remember correctly…it was fixed to the mono-stay at both ends.
