Rotor 3D+ SRM power meter crankset for mountain bikes

Rotor Bike Components has extended their relationship with SRM to their top end 3D+ mountain bike crankset

“We currently offer the SRM for our 3D+ crank on the road and have had it for about a year,” said Kervin Quinones, Rotor’s marketing manager. “We’ve had dealer and customer requests to bring it to the mountain bike side for a while.”

3D+ sits at the top of their crankset range. The 3D has a 24mm steel axle in road, compact and track with the SRM power meter. The 3D+ has an alloy 30mm spindle that’s slightly longer than a standard BB30 frame because it’s made for the Cervelo BBRight system. This lets it work with all 30mm standards (BB30, PFBB30, BBRight and BB386EVO) and they make bottom brackets and adapters to fit it to standard external cup bearings (English & Italian thread), BB86 Shimano Pressfit, etc. Below those is their forthcoming 3DF (forged) crankset, which we saw at NAHBS.

And if you already have their 3D+ crankset, road or mountain, you can retrofit a SRM power meter onto it by sending it in to Rotor.

MSRP is $2,499 for MTB cranks, rings and SRM spider, which is about $500 less than the comparable road version. Uses the 120/80 BCD pattern, same as SRAM XX, so you have standard round ring options in addition to Rotor’s oval shaped rings. It’ll be available in 170, 172.5 and 175mm crank arm lengths. Runs on ANT+, so it’ll work with any compatible head unit or the SRM PC7. Available June 1.
