industry nine road wheels with new wide tubeless rims

OK, so they’re not technically rolling the metal themselves, but Industry Nine has new road rims that are designed in-house. Inspired by HED’s wider rims that they’ve been lacing their hubs to.

The inside width is 19mm with a 23.25mm external. It’s tubeless ready with the appropriate bead seat and socket, ready for road and cyclocross tubeless tires.

Rim weight is 440g and is designed for everyday use. Wheelset weight is 1450g and it’ll ship with tubeless rim tape and valve stem preinstalled. Available in June for $1,100. All 11 color options at the hubs and black, gray or white spokes.

The inner rim profile is extruded to hold tubeless tire beads right where they should be.

They’re now offering their road wheels with almost matte black ano hubs and black spokes for a very stealthy hoop. They said their blacked out mountain bike wheels are quite popular so they decided to do it for roadies, too. New graphics on the rims for all carbon wheels, too.

“Available in June for $1,100”

OK June is over, when will we hear more about these wheels?
i9 has the worst website in the world, better off checking out their Facebook page!

Most interesting wheel developments this summer…

1. new Stans Alpha rim options (new 340, the 400)
2. new mystery i9 rim (and who is making them?)
3. new “Ligero” wheel (rim/hub) by FWB (Jason/Troy) + Kirk Pacenti

At least there’s the Tour to pass the time waiting for these to come out! 😉
