For 2013, DT Swiss is expanding the wheel line with their top of the line straight pull Die Cut hubs. Launched last fall with carbon rims, there’s now an R21 alloy rimmed model that’ll come in at about 1420g for $1,100. Should be available in August. Shown on right.

Just as interesting, all of their road wheels -Classic, Tricon and Die Cut- will all ship with 11-speed freehub bodies. Read into that what you will…

There’s a new SPLine wheel family, and it’ll be the top end for their alloy mountain bike wheels and just under the Die Cut line on the road side. The name stands for Straight Pull Line in reference to the straight pull spoke design:

On the left in the top pic will be their new top of the line alloy 29er mountain bike wheel, the SPLine XR1450-29. It should come in around 1520g for the set, about 250g lighter than the current Tricon wheels. Rim is 24mm outside, about 20mm inside. Tubeless compatible with tape and sealant.

Within the SPLine family, there will be options with different hub internals. Top end will be based on their 240 hubs. This wheel will be what their new 27.5/650B wheels will come as but with a mid-level 350 hub set. August availability, and no current plans to offer the carbon 650 tubulars that Nino’s been riding.

They’re also doing more OEM hubs for bike brands, including Giant, Specialized’s Roval and Bontrager.

The XMM 29er forks now get a 15mm thru axle on the carbon crown fork. Weight should be around 1600g for the 120mm. There’s also a 100mm version, and they’re non adjustable.

New X313 shock has a new platform-like three position setting that’s open, platform and lockout setting. A carbon version will be available, too, and both will have levers on the shock or work with their remote lockout. It’s also something they’re developing with Scott’s bikes in mind, so perhaps there’s something new happening with their multi-travel bikes.
