Fresh off her podium finish at the 70.3 Ironman World Championships, Linsey Corbin will race the art bike custom painted by Scott Sports to match her, uh, recovery beverage sponsor. More pics and the official press release (yes, there’s an official press release about this) after the break…

PRESS RELEASE: Montana professional triathlete Linsey Corbin, America’s top female finisher at the recent 70.3 Ironman World Championships (third overall), has announced she will bring her new custom SCOTT Sports Plasma3, as well as a Big Sky Brewing Company beer to this year’s Ironman World Championships slated for the Big Island of Hawaii, on October 8, 2011.

Corbin’s custom SCOTT Sports Plasma3 bike, which debuted at the 2010 event, was auctioned for charity earlier this Spring. This year’s white, purple, and green ride features a Montana theme to match Corbin’s “Montana Made” moniker.

Corbin said, “SCOTT Sports continues to push the envelope on design. All they asked was that I send my favorite image of the Montana mountains. It’s the first bike I’ve seen with embedded photography in the design.” The bike also features her signature bison skull logo and a compliment of parts from longtime sponsors Speedplay, SRAM, Zipp, and Vision.

Missoula-based Big Sky Brewing Company, Corbin’s so-called “recovery” sponsor, will once again be packaging a Linsey Corbin Montana Made Ale for this year’s event. Corbin said, “I don’t know many triathletes that don’t enjoy a good, cold beer after a long day at the office.”

As for the beer style, previous versions have ranged from a filtered wheat ale to a hoppy, strong ale. To support SCOTT Sports’ design efforts on the bike, the brewery’s graphic artist designed a can to match this year’s frame design. In addition to this custom look, the can label also features logos from Corbin’s top three sponsors: Saucony, Clif Bar, and SCOTT Sports.

Both the bike and the beer will be on display at the Clif Bar Triathlounge, and featured during Happy Hour with Linsey Corbin Wednesday afternoon before the big race. The Clif Bar Triahthlounge, unleashed by the company at last year’s event, provides a space for athletes and spectators to hang out, try new products, relax, and enjoy the race. Happy Hour with Linsey Corbin will begin at 4pm on Wednesday, October 5th at the Team Clif Bar House located on Ali’i Drive in Kona. In the mysterious fashion of the Clif Bar Triathlounge, the address will be released closer to the event.

Of the pre-race event, Corbin exclaimed, “Free Big Sky beer: Who’s not going to show up?”

Linsey and Scott aren’t doing another new here. My blue, silver and red Huff perfectly matches my can of Natty Light.

The beer container didn’t make the brand clear. Poor design.
