Proudly displayed in their new distributors’ booths at Interbike this year, we were excited to come across another brand we’d admired from afar.  Hailing from the Italian Alps, which is where the majority of their product is built, MET makes some great fitting and innovative helmets for both road and trail- and do it with a strong social conscience.    While much of the range will be brought in by Tom Hall Enterprises in Cerritos, CA, click through for details on the award-winning Sine Thesis road and Kaos (pictured above) trail helmets…

The $250 Sine Thesis is a pro-level helmet that was recently rated not only a best buy by a major German cycling magazine, but also the coolest that they’d ever tested.  The venturi foils (here in green) are said to increase airflow at the scalp by 18%- no small feat.  CPSC approval is pending and the helmet should be landing this winter.

The Kaos (top photo) is a remarkably light (235g in medium) and comfortable trail helmet that I’ve personally considered ordering several times from Chain Reaction.  As with the rest of the range, the detail is fantastic and ventilation reportedly among the best.  Most models even use these breezy straps and color-keyed buckles.  We’re looking forward to testing one once they’re approved this winter.
