Photo submitted by Tim Brink, “Enough of the snow already – today’s midday ride in Cape Town, South Africa, saw the mercury hit 37.5 C (99.5F) on Chapman’s Peak, the feature climb in one of the world’s biggest bike races. March’s annual Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour – www.cycletour.co.za – sees 35,000 riders tackle Chappies as part of the 109km race (somebody called Lance also rode it in 2010). The rest of the year, some of us have it all to ourselves.”
