Eric Sampson sent us images and some info on these items back when he showed off his gorgeous new carbon fiber cranks, and now things are either ready or closer to being ready for sale.

The carbon S-Pedals above show the difference in platform between it (right) and his alloy model. In his own excited words, here’s the deal:

Here’s a pic of our carbon prototypes. 66 mm wide underfoot ( our s5 shown in white is 62 mm ) no-rock cleat design, easy adjust tension, steel version about 215 g a set– $219 — Ti will be around $299, approx. 90g each!

The s5 is a top level race pedal too-all alloy body, 3 sealed cart. bear, no-rock cleat , replaceable steel wear plate, 2 x walking surface cleats, all for $149 msrp– just 259g a set too! Also available in EZ model with lighter springs.

The alloy versions are available now, and the carbon model is expected to be ready by the end of January. Jump past the break for more, including his carbon TT brake levers and hot-swappable bento box style stem pouches…

Sampson’s The System bag kit mounts to the steerer tube and has interchangeable pouches that click in and out quickly. Eric says these are good for mountain bikers, too, particularly for stage races and endurance monsters like the Breck Epic and Leadville. You could simply have pouches pre-loaded at the transitions and swap them out quickly and easily without worrying about dropping anything. And for our friend Marisa who likes to stick her iPod in a small bag strapped to her top tube, this should be gravy (we actually have a set for her to review, so look for that post in the future.

Pricing is $15-16 each for the bags, and the stem mount is $9-10. Each piece is sold separately, so you can get a set and add bags as needed.

Sampson’s new aero brake levers look like they’re finally ready, too. Again, in Eric’s words:

Stratics TT 2 lever set feature an aero-shaped front lever, use a standard road brake cable (vs. mtb) inserts into the front of the lever and pulls from the front for longer cable pull and power- great for internal routing and the center-pull brakes used on some bikes for aerodynamics–Cold-forged levers also use a really snappy return spring.  Polished finish, grey ano, laser etched graphic– $79.  A carbon lever version is out in spring -$119- about 100 g.
