Kenda’s had several of their popular tread patterns available as cyclocross tires for a while, and for the 2010/2011 season they’ve added Happy Medium and relatively new Slant Six designs.

The Slant Six comes in two sizes, a 35c and 32c, only one of which will comply with the UCI’s new rules, both with 120tpi casings, Iron Cloak Belt puncture protection and DTC dual tread compound. Weights and prices are TBD at the moment, and there’s hint on their website that a tubeless version of the 32c is coming.

Actually, it’s not really a hint, there’s an SCT model listed…SCT is Kenda’s new Sealant Compatible Tire, a new compound that should resist any sealant and let it be used tubeless!

The Slant Six ‘cross tire is part of the John Tomac Legends signature series.

The Happy Medium is a semi-slick design with small knobs in the center and a dual row of progressively larger side knobs for cornering.

It shares the DTC dual tread compound and Iron Cloak, along with the future SCT tubeless model, but it comes in a massive 40c size to complement the 32c and 35c.

The Happy Medium is part of the Eric Carter Legends signature series.

Both tires have an 85psi max rating and folding beads. Word on the street is Kenda’s working on a tubular cyclocross tire or two, but our sources have sworn us to secrecy at the moment. We’ll break it as soon as we can.
