In addition, Kona favorite Terenzo Bozzone will be riding one on race day. Read after the break to learn more about this emerging brand and what makes them unique. New distributors Sports Multiplied have taken over and are working hard to educate consumers and get dealers on board. They believe that a saddle has to be test ridden first and are therefor requiring all dealers to invest in a ride before you buy program. This will allow the consumer the chance to actually use the saddle before putting down their money. Prologo uses three different shapes, round, semi-round and flat, along with a variety of widths to create families of saddles for specific uses. Looking at the materials and design it’s clear that each saddle has been given some serious though.
Prologo is one of the few saddle makers to differentiate between a triathlon saddle and a time trial saddle. Both are part of the Nago family, which uses a semi-rounded shape. This is due to the fact that it fits the widest array of riders. From there thought there are significant differences. The time trial version, the Nago EVO TTR has been developed with input from Cancellara himself. The truncated nose is to help conform to U.C.I. rules and the Slide Control on the cover keeps the rider in one place. The triathlon saddle, the Nago EVO TRI 40 are longer and do not feature the Slide Control. It also features slightly more padding for long distance triathletes to ride in comfort. Both saddles are available in widths of 134mm or 141mm.
A cool feature of all Prologo saddles is the ability to customize the rear notch with different flags. Simply undo the two bolts under the saddle, slide the new one in, tighten the bolts back up and your saddle now has a neat touch. This rear notch can also accommodate Prologo seat bags and safety lights.
