This seems to have slipped under the radar a bit, but thanks to a judicious tip-off here is a video and photos of the new EMX-7, the top-of-the-line carbon road frame from Eddy Merckx, introduced to celebrate the Cannibal’s 65th birthday.

Details are scant, but the video is fun, intercutting archive shots with footage of Merckx and Tom Boonen road testing the new frame.  The photos, taken from FFWD website, clearly show the integrated seatpost, slightly scalloped seat tube and huge, stiff head tube, but little else is known.

Will the bike be ridden at the Tour de France? One can only assume so – FFWD are Quick Step’s wheel sponsor. It won’t be under Boonen’s butt, though, as the Belgian is missing out.

Thanks to Brett Blue for the tip-off, and click ‘more’ for the photos.
