Magura are currently working on some new disc brakes with the intention of producing “the best brake in the world”. To help them achieve this lofty ambition they are looking for help from all of us mountain bikers. They are looking for videos of any brake-wrecking crashes you have had and in exchange are offering up five sets of disc brakes as prizes. Full details after the break (brake?!)…

From the Magura website:

MAGURA is collecting the most spectacular braking crashes

Have you ever crashed? Have you perhaps wrecked your disc brakes because of that? If so than make sure you get involved in the MAGURA Crash Contest. No matter if your brakes are from MAGURA or not, as long as you have managed to trash them in your crash. Besides that you obviously need a video clip that shows one of the following:
* You managed to capture the whole thing (from beginning to end) perfect.
* You don’t have a video of how you destroyed your brake but you filmed the spectacular results of your wrecked brake.
* You filmed yourself or your friends telling the story how your brakes got destroyed.

Now simply upload the video and with a little luck win a prize.

MAGURA is trying to achieve two things with this Crash Contest. First of all we will put the funniest, the most spectacular and the most exciting crashes and crash stories together into a Crash Contest Video. More importantly though, we are keen to find out what really goes wrong in extreme situations to establish what needs to change to make brakes more resilient and reliable.

There is obviously a higher goal. The MISSION PERFORMANCE is aiming towards making the best disc brake in the world. And your input and experiences have a fundamental part in this process.
Good luck to everyone, and if any Bike Rumor readers win then please let us know!
