VIDEO: Mercedes GLK vs. Bike Messenger in NYC
Make no mistake, I like, nay, covet a Mercedes GLK, but this video is a bit cheesy, and it’s only a teaser. You’ll have to finish watching it on Mercedes-Benz.tv. (Once there, just watch the intro and subsequent hostess…it’ll start automatically. Once it starts, click on Part 2 on the bottom to pick up where this one leaves off. It doesn’t get any less cheesetastic, but there are a few slick moves by the cyclist sure to anger Mercedes drivers everywhere.)

Totally cheesy. Slick moves I think not. He dives under a road closure when he could have easily ridden around via the sidewalk, and a bunch of other staged moves like the door opening in the middle of traffic. I like how they point out that he most likely wasn’t obeying “rules of the road”. Just another attempt at putting cyclists in a bad light. Good thing this is a Mercedes ad, if it were BMW I might be upset.
