Taiwanese-based Pro-Lite has introduced a new 5-spoke tubular carbon wheelset, the Rome, for those riders looking for superior aerodynamics while still maintaining wheel strength and integrity. Pro-Lite, who manufactures a line of carbon and aluminum wheels, frames, and bars, says the wheel is its strongest yet, and has less aerodynamic drag than a conventional spoked wheel.
With just five carbon spokes and sealed bearings in the hubs, the wheel offers a virtually maintenance-free setup for the serious cyclist. Rear wheels will come with Shimano, Campy, and track configurations. No word on pricing and availability.
