PRESS RELEASE: Igor González de Galdeano, Euskaltel-Euskadi’s manager, and Miguel Madariaga, the President of the Euskadi Foundation, have announced four new projects geared to achieving maximum transparency for the team and the eradication of doping cases.

The projects will consist of four innovative lines of action: a new anti-doping program, metabolic analysis, psychological work and new technologies.

This year, the cyclists have signed a new code of ethics and the team has requested a meeting with the UCI to inform it of the new developments first-hand. In González de Galdeano’s opinion, “we need to find solutions and put the resources on the table to protect the team and the sponsors, and to make sure there are no new doping cases. We have to protect the sponsors against any athletes who try to cheat, and work in a more transparent way”. Madariaga assured that these projects will also be applied in youth cycling, in both the Orbea Continental and Naturgas teams.

The cost of the four projects put into practice by Euskaltel-Euskadi is 450,000 Euros.
