What began initially as a custom request has developed into two specific package options for riders looking to use Truvativ’s Hammerschmidt drive system on a titanium frame. Interested customers are familiar with the great benefits in the Hammerschmidt drive system, but are also weary about the significant and irreversible modifications required to existing bikes. Lynskey Performance has addressed some of the setbacks associated with prepping a frame to be compatible with the unique Hammerschmidt drive system.
“We understand that most people either do not have ISCG tabs on their current bike or the tools and confidence to perform irreversible modifications to their existing frameâ€Â. “We wanted to make it as easy as possible to buy a bike that is ready to rideâ€Â, says Mark Lynskey. On Lynskey’s packages, the frame is ready and the parts can be included.
Two packages are offered, allowing you to spec Hammerschmidt on a new Lynskey frame or send in your current frame for retrofitting (and refinishing!). Full specs, photos and video after the break…
The first package has a cost of $955.00 and includes:
• Hammerschmidt crankset and bottom bracket
• Hammerschmidt X.9 shifter
• ISCG tabs on a new Lynskey frame
• Hammerschmidt specific cable routing on the frame for a clean look
The second allows existing titanium frame owners to send in their frame for modification. For a cost of $635.00 Lynskey will:
• Add ISCG tabs
• Prep and face the bottom bracket to Truvativ specifications
• Add Hammerschmidt specific cable routing
• Refinish the frame for a like new appearance.
The Ridgeline-LT, a long travel titanium hardtail that accepts a 140mm front suspension fork, is the most notable frame requested for this modification. And with Truvativ’s focus on the All-Mountain and Freeride sector of the cycling industry, it makes perfect sense.
