camelbak-flow-meter-with-tubeCamelBak just sent us a few sneak peaks of their 2010 products, which includes this very cool digital flow meter showing how much liquid you’ve sucked through your reservoir.  Necessary?  Probably not.  Do we want it?  Oh hells yeah!

More pics of this and some sweet new bags (like the all-white Mule NV below) when you hit ‘more’

White material for a mountain bike accessory?  Why not, it’ll match all the fresh white components you’ve been sticking on your bike since Interbike last year.  No apparent changes to the Mule other than this new white color.

camelbak-the-don-2010-usaThis red, white and blue number is The Don, which is a new model for 2010.

Now you won’t have to do the old “jostle the bag” trick to determine if you have much water left.

camelbak-omega-reservoir-with-flow-meterCan’t tell exactly, but it looks like maybe CamelBak has made it so you can remove the hose from the bag without it leaking…a feature Hydrapak’s have had for a bit that’s really, really useful.  We’ll confirm as soon as those West Coasters wake up.  UPDATE: Here’s the scoop.  This is called the “Omega Deluxe Reservoir with Flow Meter”  It has a quick disconnect that enables you to detach the reservoir from the tube to fill it independently without the water leaking.

The RaceBak has been revised to include a front 1/3 zip with a nice top cover to keep it from pinching your neck skin.

camelbak-velobak-2010-mens

The VeloBak is a new model, which adds short sleeves and an interesting dual zipper.  UPDATE (Directly from CamelBak): The VeloBak has a dual zipper to maintain compression (through the center of the jersey) to stabilize the water while you cool down. It also has the standard 3-pockets as any cycling jersey would have. It is meant to be a stand alone layer (outer layer) for anyone who doesn’t want to wear a RaceBak AND a jersey. We produced this purely based on cyclist/consumer feedback and requests.

of course we need to know how much we drink per hour. our bodies can only absorb 21-26oz. per hour. any more and our salt balance gets off, any less and we can dehydrate. this is a very needed product.

I find it really nice that Camelbak is finally putting some color into their Hydrapacks. Might be looking for the Don in Red/Blue/white if it’s possible. Does anyone know when they will be available and where?
