Jango Bicycles, from Topeak, have won several European awards for their simple designs and modular accessories that make buying and using a bike simple and fun.  Now, they’ve made their way across the pond in 20 select retailers at launch.

Featuring brand-specific parts and pieces that expand the functionality of the bike based on the intended use, they have bags, racks, pumps, locks and all manner of accessories to accomplish whatever job you have in mind for your bike.  To keep it simple, they have only a hardtail and full suspension model in both 26″ and 700c wheels, each in Men’s and Women’s designs.  Shown below are a few of the preformatted packages for City, Day Touring (from left to right, click to enlarge) and Full Touring.

For people just getting into cycling, this is a fairly non-threatening way to do it…fewer initial options in terms of frame differences and features, but plenty of upgrade potential as they start riding more.  For those that want to start commuting, it’s an easy way to get into a bike setup that they know will work together…no guessing if Part “A” will work with Brand “B”. Anything that makes it easier for people to get into cycling sounds good to me. (Check our post from their Interbike Booth for more pics)

This looks like a great bike for people who are just getting into cycling, for either pleasure rides or some more serious long distant riding. The personalization is a great aspect so that any can get the best bike for them. One thing to keep in mind is the security of getting a new bike. New bikes are often targets of theft, which is why it is important to get a secure bike lock. I would recommend a a U-lock for the best security outside.
