Waste NJ posted this sweet hack to make a more covert chain tensioner, similar to the new Superstar or Fly Bikes frames. You’ll need to be technically adept, and not afraid to drill a hole in your frame, but this is pretty brilliant in its simplicity.

Come enjoy the festival atmosphere of the Asheville Grand Prix and watch (or participate in) pro and amateur road racing, plus beer, food, kid’s area, raffles, etc. Proceeds benefit the Asheville Breakfast Rotary Club, which sponsors programs like the Child Abuse Prevention Services. Ok, here’s a rumor for you…Hincapie reportedly working on a retail line of clothing for aprés ride. Now, this could be a fake mockup made by pulling the tag off another Hincapie product and having the local embroidery sweatshop hook up the pocket, but we’ll let you decide. The Vuelta a España kicked off today with Liquigas upsetting pre-race favourite Alberto Contador’s Astana team, which finished Eighth. Euskaltel-Euskadi finished second (+ 8 seconds) and Caisse d’Epargne took third (+ 9 seconds). Italian Filippo Pozzato was the first Liquigas rider to cross the line and will therefore start Sunday’s hilly stage from Granada to Jaen as race leader. Stage 2, tomorrow (Sunday) covers 167.3 km from Granada to Jaén.

R.E.Load bags just relaunched their popular “mid-pack” messenger bags after a roughly eight-month production hiatus. According to founder Roland Burns, the double-strap backpack model launched in 2001 in an oversize model intended to make messenger work easier. These were followed by the “mid-” and “mini-” packs for normal size loads, and according to Roland, they were widely regarded as the best double-strap backpack-type messenger bags around. They were sold alongside R.E.Load’s other bags (below) until late 2007, when the company stopped making the backpacks altogether.
